A Country Cook’s Garden

Susan Crosthwaite has written a book ‘A Country Cook’s Garden in South West Scotland’ that provides a wealth of invaluable information to visitors. It is a guide to all that is best to see and do in South West Scotland, including a lot of local history (without the boring bits!)

The gastronomic delights produced in the country kitchen of Cosses Country House are all created using the best Scottish produce. Home grown vegetables, fruit and herbs from Cosses' kitchen garden, locally reared beef, lamb, game, and freshly caught seafood are used in the creation of traditional Scottish Recipes to which Susan adds her own unmistakable style.

Paintings

The water-colour paintings give a glimpse of an area rich in natural beauty and capture the ever changing mood and colours of the dramatic land and seascape that is Southwest Scotland. The information and anecdotes are designed to acquaint the reader with the colourful history, plentiful outdoor activities and natural resources of the region.

Recipes

The recipes reflect the fact that all the preparation is completed by Susan and therefore within the capabilities of any enthusiastic cook - a team of sous chefs is surplus to requirements!
