Golf in South West Scotland

Golfing

South West Scotland is famous for its championship and outstanding golf courses.
Prestwick Golf Club is very high on many golfer’s wish list. The ‘quirky dinosaur’ might not be up to the modern championship standards, but it is one of its treasures where the first Open Championship was held on October 7th 1860.

Firm favourites among our guests who are serious golfers are the local Championship courses such as Turnberry and Royal Troon. Combined with the challenge of our other local courses such as Wigtownshire, Stranraer, Portpatrick and Prestwick we offer a superb set up for those on golfing holidays.
